Pleasing news for BRAUN, new order intake from a Chinese forge!

The Chinese enterprise SMS Siemag Technology (Beijing) Co., a subsidiary of the German SMS group, has placed an order for the end-user Zhejiang JIULI Hi-Tech Metals Co., Ltd for an abrasive cut-off machine on the Austrian company BRAUN Maschinenfabrik GmbH and for the peripheral equipment placed on their Chinese subsidiary, BRAUN Machine Technologies (Beijing) Co., Ltd.

In addition to the high-performance abrasive chop stroke cut-off machine of type TS 18 W, which is suitable for the use of cut-off wheels with an starting diameter of up to 1800 mm, the contractual scope of supply also includes all electrical and hydraulic components, a laser length measurement, a stamping machine for marking the bars ( supplied by BRAUN Maschinenfabrik GmbH), as well as the complete material handling and transport equipment (supplied by BRAUN Machine Technologies (Beijing) Co., Ltd.).

In the newly built forging line near Shanghai, bars with a diameter of max. 500mm and a maximum length of 10m will be forged. The temperature when cutting is max. 1050 ° C.

The abrasive cut-off machine is manufactured and extensively tested at BRAUN in Vöcklabruck, Austria. The equipment will be delivered in June 2021, and commissioning and acceptance should take place approximately in autumn 2021.

The end user decided in favor of Braun due to the higher reliability and low maintenance costs of the machine as well as the reduced running tool costs due to the longer service life of the cutting discs. Due to the worldwide Covid-19 outbreak and lock down, all technical clarifications and commercial contract negotiations were partially held in the home office via video conferences.
