The American titanium specialist Perryman Company, Houston PA / USA has placed an order with Austria’s BRAUN Maschinenfabrik GmbH for an abrasive cut-off ma­chine, type TS 16 L with peripheral equipment a chain conveyor cooling bed.

By making this investment, Perryman is able to expand its own holistically integrated production processes and extend the forged product portfolio based on its expertise in titanium particular in the medical sector and in aerospace industry supplying forgings for turbines and safety-relevant structures that comply with high quality standards.

BRAUN’s dry abrasive cut-off machine with linear guided cut­ting head with 1 650 mm (65") wheels is for hot cutting forged titanium alloyed round, flat, squared and octagonal ingots within a new forging line.

After removing head and tail scrap and cutting to final length, the material will be marked and transferred via a chain conveyor cooling bed towards a handling manipu­lator.

The BRAUN equipment will be delivered in September 2023. Installation, commis­sion­ing, and acceptance are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2023.
