BRAUN Maschinenfabrik GmbH and the chinese subsidiary BRAUN Machine Technologies (Beijing) Co. Ltd., worldwide market leader for abrasive cut-off machines for the steel industry, received another order from China in December 2020:

The Chinese equipment supplier CERI was awarded to build for the end user LINYI Iron & Steel Investment Co., Ltd. a new SBQ small bar mill at the LINYI site. BRAUN Maschinenfabrik GmbH Austria and the chinese subsidiary BRAUN Machine Technologies (Beijing) Co. Ltd. China have been awarded with the supply of the important cutting units and all the auxiliary equipment therefore.

The annual capacity of this new rolling mill is 500,000 metric tons of steel bars in the diameter range from 13 to 60 mm. With the three gantry type abrasive cut-off machines (Type TS12FP, suitable for the utilization of cutting wheels up to 1,270 mm in diameter), up to 1,600 mm wide layers of rolled steel bars coming from the cooling bed can be cut fast, precisely and reliably as required for a smooth production operation, for achieving the desired throughput and for guaranteeing the cut quality that is essential for SBQ products.

The Austrian part of the delivery will be manufactured and tested at BRAUN's headquarter in Vöcklabruck, before shipment in October 2021. Installation and commissioning, which will be supervised by BRAUN, shall take place in the 1st quarter of 2022.

The project was heavily contested by international and national competition. Ultimately, BRAUN was able to prevail because of the well-known quality, reliability and high performance of the machines, as well as thanks to the technological know how.
