Austria’s BRAUN Maschinenfabrik GmbH and their Chinese subsidiary, BRAUN Machine Technologies (Beijing) Co., Ltd. have received another order from a Chinese manufacturer of rolled bars.

Hunan Valin Xiangtan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., a privately owned company, has awarded the contract for the supply of the complete equipment for the abrasive cutting facilities required for the newly built bar mill in Xiangtan, Hunan Province, PR China.

The scope of supply comprises 2 gantry-type traverse abrasive cut-off machines, type TS 12 FP, suitable for the utilization of cutting wheels with a starting diameter up to 1,270 mm, as well as all electrical and hydraulical components (supplied by BRAUN Maschinenfabrik GmbH in Vöcklabruck) and the complete material handling and transport equipment (supplied by BRAUN Machine Technologies (Beijing) Co., Ltd.).

The overall engineering, supervision of the on-site erection and commissioning will be provided by BRAUN Austria.

The new bar mill with BRAUN’s two cutting units with associated equipment shall produce up to 600,000 metric tons of bars with diameters from 20 to 90 mm per year. Delivery of the BRAUN equipment is scheduled for October 2019, commissioning and final acceptance shall take place in the 1st quarter of 2020.
