In November 2017, the Austrian company BRAUN Maschinenfabrik GmbH had received an order from Turkey for one high-performance dry traverse abrasive cut-off machine, type TS 12 F with associated equipment. The customer, HASÇELIK San. ve Tic. A. Ş. located in Çayırova/Kocaeli close to Istanbul, is a member of the FAYDASIÇOK Holding which celebrates its 50 anniversary this year.

With this investment that serves for the cutting of layers of SBQ products after the cooling bed and that replaces an existing cutting unit, HASÇELIK responded to the increasing quality requirements from their customers. Special features of BRAUN’s high-performance abrasive cut-off machine are its high throughput capacity, the outstanding quality of the cut bar ends and its reliability in continuous operation.

The abrasive cut-off machine and all other core equipment were manufactured at BRAUN in Voecklabruck, Austria. Before its delivery in mid July 2018, it was still extensively tested.

Installation on site took place during a short shut-down of the rolling mill in August. Commissioning and performance test of the installed facility were completed to date at the beginning of September 2018. Thus, the official opening ceremony to celebrate the full operational readiness of the modernized mill could take place as scheduled on September 17, 2018.
